PSM Coordinator

Sterling Industrial Refrigeration is ready to hire a Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP) coordinator for various customers across the nation. This individual will help maintain these programs as required by federal, state and local laws. This position will provide support for various safety programs for both Sterling Industrial Refrigeration and our customers. The PSM Coordinator needs to understand interpretations of OSHA, EPA, regulatory, building and safety codes as related to operating an ammonia refrigeration process in a safe and efficient manner.

 

Key Duties:

  • Must assist customers in developing new PSM and RMP programs as well as improving their existing company’s program elements to ensure that our customers remain compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Must be able to develop site specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Mechanical Integrity Procedures, Pump Out Procedures, LOTO Procedures, Confined Space Procedures, and other safety related programs.
  • Complete reports for Compliance Audits, Mechanical Integrity Inspections, Process Hazard Analysis, Program Assessments and Risk Management submissions in a timely manner
  • Responsible for maintaining our web based PSM and RMP programs for our clients that includes a point of use library containing all PSM and RMP elements in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Organize, schedule, develop, conduct training and PSM Meetings
  • Assist with the setup of new customers
  • Compile and maintain PSM and RMP action items and assist guiding customers in completing the action items

 

Requirements:

  • Must have high school degree / GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of PSM background and or experience
  • Should have working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Successful completion of Ammonia Technician Operator Level 1 preferred
  • Requires to be on site for a continuous 3 weeks
  • Knowledge of basic SOP’s
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID
  • Knowledge of federal, state and environmental standards and regulations
  • Must be an excellent communicator
  • Must be a problem solver
  • Must be able to travel when required
