Scenario
A nationally recognized food producer in Martinsville, Virginia, set out to expand production by adding a new pickle room and improving humidity control across its existing facility.
Known for its commitment to product quality and operational efficiency, the goal was to integrate advanced cooling systems within tight spatial constraints; without disrupting ongoing production.

Challenges
The new pickle room offered limited space for conventional cooling equipment.
The system required airflow that maintained optimal cooling without blowing directly on product lines.Tight site conditions and multiple subcontractors required detailed pre-planning of duct and pipe routes to prevent on-site interference.



Our Solution
Smaller, dual side-discharge evaporators were installed to ensure airflow moved evenly across the room.
Freon condensing system integrated with an EVAPCO air handler.
Early on-site evaluations and coordination with our partners allowed the Sterling team to map all ductwork and piping ahead of construction.
This collaborative, precision-led approach helped the customer achieve reliable operation and consistent environmental control from day one.
